Humber Baseball Adds Justin Marra to Coaching Staff
ETOBICOKE – Humber baseball has announced the hiring of Justin Marra as an assistant coach for the 2019 baseball season.
Marra brings a top-notch playing resume with him to the staff, after spending four years playing minor league baseball. In 2011, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and in 164 minor league games, he hit 20 home runs and drove in 85 RBI.
After concluding his professional career, Marra returned home and joined the Humber baseball team in 2017. His experience helped the Humber pitching staff become the best in the province, concluding last season with an OCAA-best 1.35 earned run average. Marra was named to the NCBC all-tournament team, helping the Hawks capture their first national invitational title in program history.
Coach Marra and the Hawks open the 2019 OCAA season on Saturday, September 7 with a doubleheader at Fanshawe. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
