Hawks Surrender 6 Runs In Last Inning To Drop National Bronze Medal Game

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks cruised through the first five innings of the six inning time-shortened NCBC Bronze Medal game against PEI's Holland College, winning 7-2 with just three outs to get. It was here that the Hawks had their worst single inning in all play this season, giving up six runs to give the Hurricanes an 8-7 walk-off victory.

The three keys to the inning were, most importantly, a dropped foul ball that would have concluded the game, followed by two "excuse me" hits and then a drive to the right centre gap that ultimately ended the game.

Dennis Dei Baning and Liam Sutherland led the Hawks with two hits each. Corey Vandegraaf was in a position to win the game, as he surrendered just three hits and two runs over 4.1 innings.
