Freshman Sam Lebel had a solid debut for the Hawks, playing all 18 games for Humber at shortstop. The Brampton native finished with a .354/.417/.477 slash line, and sat in the top-three for Humber in plate appearances (72), runs (17), hits (23), and extra-base hits (5). Lebel's outstanding freshman campaign earned him OCAA Rookie of the Year honours and a league all-star nod. Lebel joins Max Elofson as the only players in program history to receive Rookie of the Year honours.

In his final season with Humber, fourth-year center fielder Liam Sutherland was selected as league all-star for the third straight year. The 2017 Player of the Year finished second in the league in hitting, finishing with a career-high .424 batting average. The Mississauga native finished second in runs scored (18) and second in hits (25), as well. Sutherland becomes the first player in program history to receive All-OCAA honours three times.

The end of the banquet marks the beginning of the 2019 OCAA Championship, hosted by Durham College. Humber's quarter-final matchup against Seneca is set for tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. The live stream for the game can be found here.
