WINDSOR – Humber men's baseball (3-2, 3rd OCAA) split a weekend doubleheader with the St. Clair Saints (4-1, 2nd OCAA) Saturday afternoon at Bert Lacasse Park.
Game One: Humber 1, St. Clair 8
The Humber Hawks ran into a tough St. Clair starter in Luis Barrios in game one. The Saints starter threw a complete game only allowing one run on four hits to the Hawks strong lineup.
Fifth-year pitcher Matt Stoddart got the nod for the Hawks to open the two-game split. Stoddart threw five-plus allowing eight runs to score. Stoddart, unable to record an out in the sixth, handed the ball off to third-year relief pitcher Cameron Hibbs. Hibbs was able to finish off the game.
Stoddart picked up his first loss of the year, while Barrios earns his second win for the Saints.
Game Two: Humber 10, St. Clair 0
Game two started in a hurry for Humber when infielder Sam Lebel hit a solo home run to right field.
Veteran pitcher Steven Hough got the ball for Humber in game two, throwing a complete game shutout, while scattering three hits. The righty received brilliant defence behind him, with second-year infielder Jared Gonsalves turning base hits into easy outs all throughout the game. The Hawks lineup was on fire creating ten runs on ten hits. Saints pitcher Micah Harris receives the loss for this game.
Game Notes:
- Sam Lebel and Ty Martin both hit no-doubt home runs in game two. This was the first game Humber has hit two home runs in a single game since September 26, 2018, against George Brown.
- Steven Hough recorded his second career complete-game shutout, extending his Humber record to 11 career regular season wins.
- Humber improves to 9-21 against St. Clair all-time, including wins in five of their last six meetings.

Humber baseball will look to stay in the win column as they head to Sarnia to faceoff for a single game against the Lambton Lions (0-3, 7th OCAA) at Stan Slack Field at 1 p.m.
