The Storyline
No. 12 Humber women's basketball (8-1, 3rd West) returns to the hardwood this weekend for its annual trip to southwest Ontario. The Hawks will visit St. Clair (6-3, 4th West) on Jan. 12 then will face Lambton (6-5, 5th West) on Jan. 13.

Last Time Out
Head coach Ajay Sharma picked up his 150th career win in Humber's 89-83 victory over St. Clair on Dec. 1. Sharpshooter Leticia Lopez recorded her second straight double-double, finishing with a game-high 22 points and ten rebounds. Jahnae Gyles returned to the lineup and scored 19 points off the bench, including three-of-six (50.0 percent) from three-point range.

Scouting St. Clair

  • The Saints feature the second highest-scoring offence in the conference, averaging 75.4 ppg.
  • St. Clair's pressure defence forces 15.1 steals-per-game, the top mark in the OCAA.
  • Jana Kucera is leading the Saints offensively, averaging 18.4 PPG – the second-best average in the league.

During the holiday break, Humber competed in the Dawson Classic tournament, finishing 1-3. Against ranked opponents, the Hawks are 0-4 this season.

New Addition
Brianna Stewart, the 2018 OCAA Rookie of the Year, joins the Hawks for the second-half push. Last season with Sheridan, Stewart finished with 320 points, 77 rebounds, 69 assists, and 53 steals in 20 games.

Humber leads the league in rebounding, averaging 54.1 rpg – including 35.4 rpg on the defensive end of the floor.
