No.1 HAWKS SET FOR SHOWDOWN WITH No. 14 SAINTS

ETOBICOKE, ONT: The no. 1 Humber Hawks (5-0, 2nd West) will face their biggest test of the 2016-17 OCAA season Sunday afternoon when the no. 14 St. Clair Saints (6-1, 1st West) arrive at the Humber Athletic Centre.

Both teams will be playing in back-to-back days, with Humber hosting Lambton (2-4, 7th West) Saturday afternoon, while the Saints are at Sheridan (1-6, 8th West) on Saturday evening.

Last season, these two teams met three times, with Humber winning all three games. Their closest finish came in the OCAA quarter-final game, when the Hawks narrowly came away with a 90-81 victory.  Despite a 19-point lead with 10 minutes remaining, the Saints scored 25 fourth quarter points to narrow the deficit but were unable to overcome Humber's large lead.  Championship MVP Ceejay Nofuente (Toronto) stuffed the stat sheet in the win, finishing with 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals.

The Saints are led by 2014-15 OCAA Basketball Player of the Year Shannon Kennedy, a fourth-year guard averaging 15.7 points-per-game.  The Windsor native has had an impressive career for the Saints, scoring 865 points in 58 regular season games.

Humber's OCAA win streak began November 9, 2014, after losing their previous game on the road to the Saints in a close 67-63 game.  Kennedy finished with a game-high 17 points in the win for the Saints.
