HAWKS PRESEASON BATTLE VS YORK LIONS
ETOBICOKE, ON: Humber women's basketball team will host the York University Lions in a preseason match up Thursday evening.
The game will tip off at 6:00 p.m. at Humber's home court located in North Campus' Athletic Centre. Then the battle continues as the Hawks head over to the Lions den on Saturday for yet another preseason game at 4:00 p.m.
So far, the Hawks have played a total of seven preseason games, producing a 3-4 record. Playing a majority of university teams in the CIS, Humber has extremely competitive but falling short of taking the win by only a few baskets.
The Hawks ended last season with a perfect record of 24-0 and they clinched the CCAA National Champion title with a last second shot. It was the first time in CCAA history that an OCAA team won the gold medal.
The women are set to begin their OCAA regular season Wednesday, October 26 when they take on the Fanshawe Falcons on home court.
