AMBER BECHARD: REPORTING FROM BARCELONA, SPAIN

Hola!

Today was another amazing day in paradise! After breakfast we kicked things off by taking taxis to Futbol Mania (which is a soccer store) and 24 Segons (a basketball store). They were filled with awesome sports gear and jerseys and our team did some damage in there!  I would definitely recommend both these stores to any athletes and/or shoe lovers who visit Barcelona.

After spending the morning shopping we had the rest of the afternoon off. I spent my time on the rooftop tanning and swimming in the pool. The view from up there is absolutely beautiful.

At five o'clock our tour guide Oscar took us to one of the most spectacular monumental sites of Barcelona, the Basilica De La Sagrada Familia.  An artist by the name of Gaudi created this masterpiece in the late 1800s and worked on it until he passed away in 1926 from an unfortunate accident. They are still presently working on this incredible church and the goal is to have it completed within the next ten years which will mark the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death.

Guell Park was our second destination of our tour. It was like a true fairy tale, filled with lots of colours and creative imagination in the architecture within the park. Guell park displays Gaudi's imagination as this is where he created structures but still was able to maintain the natural beauty of the nature. Throughout the park you can see the creation of trees, bridges, houses, and gates made out of stone.  It also gave us some beautiful views overlooking the entire city!

Now we are back at the hotel and I am heading out to finally try some paella!
