No. 1 HAWKS PREPARE TO DO BATTLE WITH KNIGHTS
WELLAND, ON: After opening the 2016 season with a win at home, the no. 1 Humber Hawks women's basketball (1-0, 5th West) program will now face a tough road test against the Niagara Knights (1-1, 3rd West) on Thursday, November 3rd.
Behind a game-high 24 points from fourth-year guard Aleena Domingo (Toronto), the Hawks defeated Fanshawe 63-56 in their home opener and extended their win-streak to 35 consecutive games against OCAA opponents.
The Knights will be playing their first game at home this season, after opening the year with a win at Sheridan (0-2, 9th West) and a loss at Mohawk (1-0, 7th West). Niagara's biggest weapon is two-time OCAA All-Star Courtney McPherson. The five-foot-ten forward from Welland is averaging 11.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in two games this season.

In their last meeting at the Welland Athletic Centre, the Hawks came away with a 69-49 win behind Ceejay Nofuente's (Toronto) game-high 21 points. Atissa Cronk (Kingston) recorded a double-double for the Hawks after recording ten points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Over their last eight meetings, the Hawks are 7-1 against Niagara, with their last loss occurring in February 2013.
