
40 STRAIGHT WINS FOR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's basketball (3-0, 5th West) program extended their OCAA win streak to 40 consecutive games Saturday evening after a dominant 80-38 win over the Sheridan Bruins (0-5, 9th West).
All-Canadian Ceejay Nofuente (Toronto) was locked in to begin the game and scored ten points in the opening frame as the Hawks jumped out to a 24-8 lead.
Humber's lock down defence was on display all night, holding the Bruins to 21.7 percent shooting from the floor and a season-low 38 total points.
Multiple Hawks put up career numbers in this game. Nofuente recorded her second career triple-double after finishing with 16 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 assists. The 19 rebounds were a career-high for the fourth-year point guard. First-year guard Tristan Boyington (Caledon) had a career-high 13 points, including three three-point shots made. Leticia Lopez (Toronto) finished with a career-high 15 points, while Beryl Mefful (Toronto) grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds as well.
The Hawks will now have a week off before heading to Sault College (0-6, 10th West) for a weekend doubleheader.
