MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – No. 11 Humber men's basketball (13-4, 3rd OCAA) extended its win streak to four games with a 115-72 win Wednesday evening at UTM (2-15, 10th West).
Kenny Ejim dropped a game-high 31 points, including 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) from deep. Ejim's sixth trey of the game was his 52nd of the season, breaking Doug Lawrie's program record established during the 1990-91 season.
C.J. Bennett added 24 points, along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Jerome Gayle added 13 points of his own. DeQuon Cascart and Curwin Elvis finished 11 points each, and Byron Trench rounded out Humber's double-digit scorers with ten.
Humber opened the game on a 10-3 run and jumped out to an 11-point lead after ten minutes of play.
After struggling from the floor in the first quarter, UTM cut into Humber's lead when Zaman Khan – the West Division's top scorer – hit back-to-back 3-pointers to begin the second quarter. The Hawks used a 9-0 run halfway through the frame extend their lead and went into the half up 53-22.
After the break, Ejim took over offensively, scoring 13 of his game-high 31 points in the third quarter.
