BENNETT'S CAREER-NIGHT LIFTS HUMBER PAST ST. CLAIR, 102-88

WINDSOR, Ont -- Led by a career-high 31 points from C.J. Bennett, the Humber men's basketball team (3-0, 1st West) rolled by St. Clair, 102-88, Sunday afternoon.

Bennett connected on 11-of-18 from the floor, adding five rebounds and six assists. Kenny Ejim added 20 points, including five triples and six rebounds. Curwin Elvis and Stefan Grujic chipped in 11 points each.

Gil Atencio and Jermaine Lynch led St. Clair (0-1, 9th West), as both Saints finished the game with a double-double. Atencio recorded 20 points and ten rebounds, while Lynch added 14 points and ten assists.

Less than 24 hours removed from its overtime win at Lambton, the Hawks were back on the hardwood for St. Clair's 2017 season opener. Humber jumped out to a 27-16 lead after ten minutes, but the Saints responded by winning the second quarter, trimming Humber's lead to six at the half.

After 20 minutes, the Hawks shot 48.4 percent (15-of-31) from the floor, including 4-of-9 from behind the arc. The Saints matched Humber, shooting 44.0 percent (11-of-25), but were 4-of-12 from long distance.

The Hawks would extend its lead to a game-high 21 points in the third quarter, but the Saints would use an 11-0 run to stay in the game.

Humber shot 55.3 percent (21-of-38) in the second half to pull out the win 102-88, to begin the season 3-0.
