Humber Badminton Readies to Defend Provincial Titles
KITCHENER – Humber badminton is gearing up to take on the best in Ontario this week at the 2020 Badminton Provincial Championships hosted Conestoga College begins Feb. 13.
The tournament begins Wednesday morning with the annual awards banquet at 9 a.m. and the opening ceremonies to begin at noon.
The Hawks will be well represented at provincials after advancing all five disciplines from regionals. Ramnish Kumar will look to defend his men's singles title, while Arpit Taneja and Ayubu Touray will defend their men's double title. Chloe Rowe, with partner Susanna Quach, will attempt to win her fourth-straight provincial title.
National champion Victoria Duong and Desmond Chan will look to win a provincial title after finishing regionals undefeated. Melissa Duong will play for her first OCAA medal after finishing second at regionals.
