TORONTO, Ont – The Humber men's baseball team (10-4, 1st OCAA) earned a doubleheader sweep against George Brown College (2-10, 5th OCAA), with 6-3 and 11-0 wins over the Huskies. Keegan Murphy had five hits on the evening with two RBIs, while Dennis Dei Baning added three hits, including a home run and two doubles.
Matt Stoddart (3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 K) and freshman Stephen Narhabeki (4 IP, 3H, 0 ER, 5 K) each picked up wins for the Hawks.
Humber 6, George Brown 3
George Brown jumped out to an early lead in game one until Dennis Dei Baning hit a three-run home run off of former Mercyhurst Laker (NCAA) John Lamanna. Thinking the ball was off the wall, Dei Banning put his head down trying to leg out a double when he found out the ball went over the right-field fence. At this point he had caught up to Justin Marra, slightly passing him on the base paths. In what may have been one of the strangest calls in the history of OCAA baseball, Marra was deemed out and the home run only scored two.
Humber entered the final inning trailing by one when Minnesota native Max Elofson roped a leadoff double down the right-field line, driving Lamanna from the game. After Stephen Andreopoulos reached on a sacrifice bunt, centerfielder Liam Sutherland hit a two-run single back up the middle to give Humber the lead.
Later in the inning, the Huskies intentionally walked Dei Baning to face Andrew Thomson, who entered the game hitting .688 (11/16). Thomson made George Brown pay, hitting Humber's second two-run single of the inning.

Humber's hot offence continued in game two, scoring ten runs in the first three innings. The Hawks had five players finish the game with multiple hits and pacing the way was Keegan Murphy, who finished with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Dei Baning continued to see the ball well, hitting two doubles with two RBIs. All-Star Brandon Costa also had two hits and added a stolen base as well.
With six games in four days, Humber turned to freshman pitcher Stephen Narhabeki, who made his first career OCAA start. The young right-hander did not disappoint, striking out five and scattering three hits over four innings of work.
Humber finishes 4-0 against George Brown this season and improves to 20-0 all-time against the Huskies.

The Hawks return to the friendly confines of Connorvale Park Oct. 7 for a doubleheader with the Seneca Sting (2-8, 6th OCAA). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on HSN1.
