OAKVILLE - Sixteen wins, zero losses, 48 sets won, and only four dropped. A memorable campaign that could only lead to the 17th division title under Coach Wilkins' tenure. The No. 4-ranked women's volleyball team in the country secured the top spot in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Western Division with a sweep against the Sheridan Bruins on Wednesday night (Jan. 22) in Oakville, claiming a stellar 3-0 victory (XXX). As a result, the Hawks have locked in home-court advantage for the postseason and will now play out the remaining schedule against Fanshawe and Mohawk in the last two rounds.

Entering the match with a 1-13 record, Sheridan had little hope of toppling the Western powerhouse. In just over an hour and ten minutes, Humber imposed its game and stifled all attempts by the home team. In the first set, the Bruins tried to keep the game balanced, but it didn't take long for the Hawks to find the openings they needed to dominate. In an inspired performance by Amy Connelly (10K, 3SA, and 3B) and Caroline Klich (5K, 2SA, and 3B), Humber's offense did enough to overcome the hosts 25-19.

The second set was a complete blowout. With no resistance offered, the Bruins struggled to find answers to the Hawks' varied plays at the net and wings. Within minutes, Humber delivered a commanding 25-11 victory to go up 2-0. With the team more relaxed, Sheridan managed to keep the third set more competitive but faltered in key moments. Alongside Connelly and Klich, Lexie Zicari (4K and 4SA) played a pivotal role in the game plan. Despite the home team's efforts, Humber closed the set 25-20, securing a 3-0 win and clinching the division championship.
