CCAA names Humber Varsity the top athletics program over the last 50 years

OTTAWA — To celebrate 50 years of excellence in collegiate athletics, the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honoured its top teams with banner presentations at the 50th-anniversary gala at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Humber Athletics - the most decorated program in the country - was honoured as the top collegiate program in the CCAA over the last half-century.

The CCAA committee has ranked the top-10 institutions in 11 sports since 1974 in its "Supremacy" series, and Humber saw its name called in ten sports—including three first-overall selections in men's soccer, golf, and men's basketball.

No other institution has been as successful as Humber College since capturing its first CCAA national championship in 1991. The Hawks have won 67 national titles over the last 33 years. Since 2006, Humber has won at least one CCAA title, a streak spanning 18 consecutive seasons. In 2023, the Hawks captured a program record of eight CCAA gold medals, shattering the school record of six from 2016.
