VAUGHAN, Ont -- The No. 1 Humber men's soccer team (9-0, 1st Central) will wrap up the regular season Wednesday against Sheridan Bruins (5-4, 3rd Central) at the Ontario Soccer Centre. The match begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

The Opening Kickoff

  • Humber will look to finish the regular season unbeaten for the fourth consecutive season.
  • The Hawks continue to boast the highest scoring offence in the province; averaging 3.67 goals-per-game.
  • Humber is the only team that features two scorers ranked in the top five in the OCAA. Luca Baldassarre (4th) has nine goals, while All-Canadian Jaineil Hoilett (5th) has eight.

Last Time Out
Establishing new season-highs in shots (31) and corner kicks (14), Humber scored four goals in the second half to defeat Cambrian 4-0.  The Hawks backline, led by four-time defensive player of the year Kingsley Boasiako, did not allow the Golden Shield to record a shot.

Marc Medeiros and Andi Motina scored their first career goals for Humber in the win.  Daniel Voci earned the clean sheet.

Scouting No. 1 Humber
Humber sits atop the OCAA Central Division, scoring a league-best best 33 goals, while allowing a league-low four goals.

The Humber defensive unit has recorded a league-best six shutouts, holding opponents to a mere 3.56 shots on goal per game.

Scouting Sheridan
The Bruins feature the second highest scoring offence in the Central Division, averaging 3.11 goals-per-game. On the road, Sheridan owns a 2-2 record, coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 11 George Brown.

Since 2012, Humber is 7-1-2 against the Bruins.

Last Meeting
The Hawks finished the road portion of their 2017 schedule at Sheridan and two quick goals from Claudio Sereno gave Humber a 2-0 lead at the half.

The Bruins were able to tie the game in the 75th on a penalty kick but Tomasz Balicki broke the stalemate 11 minutes later.

Seniors Night
Wednesday marks the final regular season home match for five Humber players, all of whom have played an integral role in leading the program to four national championships over the last five years.  The pregame ceremony will feature: Dominic Roberts, Kingsley Boasiako, Eugenio Garro, Michael Aigbokie, and Daniele Clemente.

It has been 1,090 days since the Hawks last lost an OCAA match after extending their unbeaten streak to 41 straight.

With a record of 40-0-1 against CCAA and OCAA competition, the Hawks own a plus-139 goal differential with 28 clean sheets during the streak.

Prior to Wednesday's match, Humber Athletics will have a special ring ceremony for the 2016 National Championship soccer team.

Climbing the Ladder
In Sunday's win over Cambrian, fifth-year forward Michael Aigbokie become the second Humber player to register 30 career goals.

What's Next
No. 1 Humber will head to Fleming College in search of its seventh provincial title since 2010.  The three-day tournament will take place from Oct. 26 – 28.
