FORMER HAWKS SELECTED TO PLAY FOR CANADA FUTSAL

Two former Humber men's soccer national champions will be travelling to Costa Rica to play a pair of futsal friendlies for Canada, as announced by Canada Soccer Monday evening.

Matthew Rios (2009-12) and Jacob Orellana (2013) will join Team Canada in Costa Rica January 15-22 to help the program build on its momentum in the early stages of the 2020 Futsal World Cup cycle.

Rios played three seasons for Humber, helping the program return to national prominence in 2012. That year, Rios was named the OCAA Championship MVP and named to the CCAA All-Tournament team as the Hawks captured their first national title in 11 seasons.

Orellano joined Humber in 2013, helping the Hawks repeat as national champions for the first time in program history.

Game one will be played Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. ET and Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. ET and will be streamed via Costa Rica's Facebook page.
