No. 1 HAWKS BLANK CAMBRIAN, 4-0

By E. Garro

SUDBURY, Ont -- The no. 1 Humber Hawks men's soccer team kept the winning streak alive with a 4-0 win over the Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday.

From the opening kick-off, it was clear what Cambrian's game plan was going to be. Sit back and try to hold off Humber's high-powered offence. Even with Cambrian playing tight defence, the Hawks still managed to find ways through.

It was around the 15th minute when Humber was able to break through. Attacker Jaineil Hoilett converted off a low cross to give Humber a 1-0 lead.

Humber kept the pressure on, moving the ball around and out of Cambrian's grasp.

It wasn't long after when Humber striker Luca Baldassarre calmly slotted home goals two and three giving the Hawks a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

A big lead at halftime meant the Hawks could focus on getting others into the game and trying new things.

Midway through the second half, Hoilett would put home the rebound of a penalty kick giving him his team-leading fifth goal of the season and Baldassarre sitting right behind him with four.

Eugenio Garro and Daniel Voci would combine for the Hawks second shutout of the season.
