SCARBOROUGH, Ont – The No. 1 Humber Hawks men's soccer team (4-0, 1st Central) will be tested this Wednesday when they head on the road for their first meeting of the season with the No. 9 George Brown Huskies (3-0-1, 2nd Central).
The Opening Kickoff
- The Hawks continue to boast one of the top backfields in the province, led by three-time OCAA Defensive Player of the Year Kingsley Boasiako. Humber's defence has allowed 12 shots on goal in four matches thus far.
- All-Canadian Jaineil Hoilett leads Humber with six goals this season. Teammate Luca Baldassarre trails by one, with five tallies in 2017.
Last Time Out
Two first-half goals from Hoilett and Baldassarre allowed Humber to hold on and win its 2017 home opener 2-1 over UTM (0-2-2, 5th Central).
Hoilett put the Hawks on the board in the 19th minute before Sanjar Kairosh scored the equaliser minutes later after a defensive miscue by Humber.
Baldassarre recorded his second game-winner of the season in the 30th minute to put Humber ahead for good.
Scouting Humber

- Humber currently averages 4.25 goals-per-game, tops in the OCAA.

Scouting George Brown
The Huskies own a 3-0-1 record this season, including a 1-0-1 record at home. Filipe Vilela leads the team with four goals, while six other players have also found the back of the net.
In three starts this season, keeper Paraskevas (Aris) Efstathiadis has three wins, including two shutouts.
George Brown's 0.50 goals-against-average is tops in the league, tied only with Humber.
Since the realignment of the divisions in 2015, the Hawks are 3-0-1 against the Huskies in regular season play.
Last Meeting
These two programs met last Fall in the 2016 OCAA semifinal game, with Humber coming away with the 4-0 shutout. CCAA Player of the Year Marcos Nunes opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and all-star Karman Singh recorded the clean sheet.

Michael Aquino returns for his fourth season as the head coach of the Humber men's soccer program. The 2017 CCAA Coaching Excellence Award recipient has led the Hawks to three national championships, three provincial championships, and an overall record of 55-2-4.
