NORTH YORK, Ont -- On their last road trip of the season, the Humber softball team travelled to play two against Seneca College on Tuesday evening. Humber came into tonight's matchup after a week off to rejuvenate and celebrate Thanksgiving with friends and family. The break would benefit the Hawks as they pummeled the Sting 14-0 and 15-2 sweeping the season series with Seneca.
HUMBER 14, SENECA 0
To get the Hawks back on the right foot after the break, they looked to Rachel Matheson-Green to toe the rubber in game one. All season Matheson-Green has been superb this season going at least four innings in each of her outings, and she would be dominant once again in this outing. Matheson-Green would throw six shutout innings, allowing three hits, a walk and four punch outs before passing the ball off to fellow right-hander Bree Donaldson in the seventh. Donaldson would strikeout a pair in her inning of work to secure the win for Humber in game one of their doubleheader.
Offensively, the Hawks bats were fully charged up after the break, scoring in every inning but the first, on route to their 14-0 victory. Humber would pound out 18 hits in the effort, led by Aaliyah Davidson and Sarah Franchetto, who both collected three hits in the game. Bonnie Gillingham collected four RBIs in this one, going 2-4 at the dish.
HUMBER 15, SENECA 2
The second game of the doubleheader saw the Hawks continue their offensive power surge, scoring multiple runs in each inning. Humber was led by Elisa Gregoris who would hit a no-doubter over the right-field fence, her first home run of the season. Terah Camilleri drove in four RBIs on two doubles, going 2-3 in the game. Table setter, Jenna Hillman reached in each of the four at-bats she would have in the game going 2-2 with a walk, hit by pitch while scoring three times.
While the offence was an attraction, right-hander Myranda Pierson was the story. Although Pierson wasn't the most dominant on the night, allowing eight hits over her five innings of work, she also punched out eight Sting hitters en route to her 100th career strikeout. Pierson would allow two runs (one earned) and allowed two free passes on the night, earning her sixth win of the season.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Hawks return to action on Thursday against former OCAA Champion Durham Lords, at the Brampton Fairgrounds. The doubleheader is the start of a six-game homestand for the Hawks. First pitches are slated for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The game will be live streamed on the Hawks Sports Network.
