OFFENCE ROLLS HAWKS PAST FANSHAWE

LONDON, Ont – The Humber softball team (10-4, 3rd OCAA) earned a doubleheader sweep against Fanshawe College (4-12, 6th OCAA), with 11-5 and 15-0 wins over the Falcons.  Aaliyah Davidson had four hits on the evening with six RBIs and two runs scored, while Jenna Hillman added four hits and five runs scored.

Second-year pitcher Rachel Matheson-Green (4.2 IP, 5 ER, 8 H) and third-year pitcher Myranda Pierson (4 IP, 0 ER, 2 H) each picked up wins for the Hawks.

HUMBER 11, FANSHAWE 5
Three big innings for Humber – a three-run third inning, four-run fifth inning, and a three-run sixth inning – helped the Hawks pull away from Fanshawe in game one.

Maddie Pasma opened the scoring for Humber with a RBI single in the second inning that scored Sarah Franchetto, followed by a RBI groundout by Jenna Hillman.

The Falcons responded with four runs over the next three innings and took a 4-3 lead into the fifth inning. 

The four-run inning for Humber in the fifth inning began when Kyra Gay scored Hillman from third on a bunt to tie the game.  A passed ball and RBI single from Elisa Gregoris gave Humber the lead for good.

Bree Donaldson and Sam MacCallum combined to shut down the Falcons over the next 2.1 innings, as Humber sealed the 11-5 win.

HUMBER 15, FANSHAWE 0
Humber's bats put game two of the doubleheader against Fanshawe out of reach early.  In the top of the first inning, doubles from Meaghan Murphy, Sam MacCallum, and Jenna Hillman gave Humber a 6-0 lead. 

The Hawks tacked on four more runs in the top of the second inning and five more over the next two frames to complete the 15-0 mercy.

Myranda Pierson picked up her fifth win of the season, her fourth start without giving up a run.

What's Next?
The Hawks play a doubleheader at St. Clair (12-4, 2nd OCAA) tomorrow at South Campus.  First pitch is slated for noon and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
