HAWKS STRUGGLE ON DAY ONE AND SIT IN EIGHTH OVERALL

CHILLIWACK, BC: The Humber Hawks men's team, who missed the podium for the first time in their history last year, are in danger of not securing a team medal for the second year in a row. Humber currently sits in eighth overall after Day One, a respectable eleven strokes back but still with many teams to leap frog.

Michael Vance and Christian McCullough were the top Hawks on the day, shooting even par. They mirrors the men's team result, as they are only five strokes off the lead but is tied in seventeenth place.

The team drop-off came by way of the next two Hawk scorers, with Barrett McCarthy (tied 36th) and OCAA Silver Medalist Scott Benzoni (tied 43rd) with scores of three and four over, respectfully.

Humber made great strides in the last two rounds of OCAA play a few weeks ago, and are capable of doing the same. But, the number of teams in front of them could cause a problem.
