HAWKS WIN GEORGIAN EVENT IN LAST TEST BEFORE OCAA’S
BARRIE, Ontario: The OCAA Championships are just a few days away, and the Humber Hawks took full advantage of the last event prior to the main event by taking both the men's and women's titles at the Georgian College Invitational.
The men, led by individual Gold Medalist Scott Benzoni, took the men's title by just a single stroke. Benzoni actually tied for first, and had to claim the title by way of a play-off. Hawks scorers included;
Scott Benzoni (70), Mike Vance (72), Wil Gavarakos (76) and Christian McCullogh (76).
On the women's side, it was Sheila McKeen who led the way as she captured the individual Silver Medal.
As mentioned above, the OCAA Championships will take place next Monday – Wednesday (three rounds) from Hunter's Pointe in Niagara Falls.
