HAWKS FIND SILVER LINING AS NINE YEAR REIGN ENDS

HAWKS FIND SILVER LINING AS NINE YEAR REIGN ENDS

WELLAND, Ontario: The Humber Hawks men's golf team still stepped on the podium, but for the first time in ten years it was the silver medals that were placed upon their neck, not the gold they have come accustomed to over the previous nine years.

It wasn't without drama as the Hawks mounted an incredible comeback that saw them win two of three days and came within two strokes when it was all over. The winning Niagara Knights, on their home course, ran out to a huge lead after round 1 and held on to take the title.

On the individual side, Scott Benzoni earned the silver medal and Christian McCullough tied for third and shared the bronze medal.

Humber will now move on to the CCAA National Championships in Montreal, in two weeks.
