GOLF NATIONALS THIRD ROUND CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

UPDATE: The third round has been cancelled due to inclement weather; the first two rounds will decide the championship.

Humber Wraps up Second Round at Nationals

The Humber Hawks Golf Team, the most decorated program in the country, finished up the second round at the 2014 PING CCAA National Championships today.

The Hawks headed into the day with some ground to make up; the Men's Team sat in seventh at +14, while the Women's Team were seventh heading into day two as well. Christian McCullough (+1) and Cole Kent (+3) were both in the top twenty-five individually, while on the Women's side two-time reigning OCAA Champion Adrienne D'Alessio was ninth overall at eight over. Thursday's round was clearly crucial as to whether the Hawks would get back into medal contention; the Men's Team headed into the week in search of a fifth national title in the past six years, and a podium finish was still very possible for such an accomplished group.

The second round saw better scores across the board for the team, though it will still be an uphill climb to medal. The Men's Team finished the day with the second lowest score of the day at three-under, moving them into sixth place overall. Barrett McCarthy led the way for the blue and gold, shooting a two-under par 70; he and Christian McCullough are tied for fifteenth at +3 going into the final round. On the Women's side, Adrienne D'Alessio is in ninth place at +19.
