HAWKS ARE YOUR 2019 CCAA NATIONAL CURLING SILVER MEDALISTS

FREDERICTON, BC: The "cardiac kids" of the 2019 CCAA National Curling Championships were unable to find a way to produce another comeback in the 10-4 title game against Concordia (ACAC) on Tuesday afternoon. The result was still outstanding, as the Hawks snared their second ever national medal, this time of the silver variety.

Humber was outmatched from the onset and was unable to respond. They gave up two in the first, only being able to reply with one in the second. With hammer, Concordia once again put up a crooked number in the third, as their two increased their lead to 4-1. They followed this up with a steal of one. Humber did bring it a bit closer, but a score of one was all they could muster, and they were down 5-2 at the break.

Concordia's three in the sixth end put the game out of reach. The teams shook after nine.

Humber's podium finish was the only one by an OCAA men's or women's team at the 2019 Championships.
