HUGE COMEBACK PUTS HAWKS IN CONTENTION FOR PLAYOFF ROUND AT NATIONALS
FREDERICTON, NB: The Humber Hawks women's team were on the brink of elimination at the 2019 CCAA Curling Championships, but a stirring comeback against Holland College has put them just a win away from advancing to the medal round.
Down 6-2 after seven ends, it looked like a conceding handshake may have been just an end away. But, scores of one in the eighth, a big three in the ninth and a single in the tenth and final end, the Hawks vaulted their way to a 7-6 victory.
With the win, their record improves to 4-2 and with a win on Monday over Douglas (PACWEST), they would secure the much-coveted playoff spot.
The match is set for 10:30 EST on Monday.
