
McAlpine, Clarke earn Humber Student-Athlete of the Week honours
New to the Humber Hawks, Kayah Clarke and Michael McAlpine have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 6.

A big week from the former Windsor Lancer, Kayah Clarke led the women's basketball program two victories. In wins over Mohawk and Fanshawe, Clarke combined to score 36 points on 46.4 per cent (13-for-28) shooting from the floor.
In a 77-48 win over Mohawk, the Hamilton native recorded a season-high 22 points. Three days later, Clarke narrowly missed a double-double on the road at Fanshawe, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds.
For Clarke, it's her first Humber Athlete of the Week selection.

Michael McAlpine made the most of his playing time over the weekend, leading the men's volleyball team to its first two victories of the young season.
Getting acclimated to the fast pace of OCAA volleyball, McAlpine finished with a match-high 15 points in Humber's win over Cambrian. The big lefty recorded a career-high 11 kills and four service aces over four sets.
The next day, McAlpine finished with a match-high once again, recording 14 points in Humber's three-set sweep over Boréal. His ten kills came on an efficient 0.714 swing percentage, while he recorded a career-high two stuff blocks.
For McAlpine, it's his first Humber Athlete of the Week selection.
