Osas Joshua, Ellis earn Humber Student-Athlete of the Week honours

ew to the Humber Hawks, Keyome Eliis and Romeo Osas Joshua have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Nov. 21 to Nov. 27.

It was another big week for No. 3 Humber women's volleyball, picking up two road wins and improving to 8-0 to begin the season. 2022 CCAA All-Canadian Keyome Ellis was impressive all week, finishing with 26 points in wins over Mohawk (5-3, 5th West) and Redeemer (4-4, 6th West). 

Ellis tied her career-high with 17 points against Redeemer in front of the raucous Royals fans. The Scarborough native had 12 kills on 20 swings, adding seven digs, three aces, and two blocks.

Ellis has quietly been one of the most efficient scorers in the conference this season and, through seven matches, has a 0.505 swing percentage.

For Ellis, it's her second Humber Athlete of the Week selection. 


Romeo Osas Joshua

Romeo Osas Joshua has taken a major step forward in his second season with Humber basketball and has become an integral part of the squad. In Saturday's win over the Redeemer Royals (2-6, 8th West), the Toronto native recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 16 points and 11 boards.

Thorough eight games, Osas Joshua has set new career-highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.

For Osas Joshua, it's his first Humber Athlete of the Week selection.
