Lambert-Cadore, Watt earn Humber Student-Athlete of the Week honours

It was a big week for Humber basketball, finishing 4-0 on the week. For their efforts, Kia Watt and Dwayne lambert-Cadore have earned Humber Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honours for the week of Feb. 21-27.

Third-year guard Kia Watt put together a big weekend homestand for the Hawks, helping No. 5 Humber improve to 6-0 on the season with wins over St. Clair and No. 8 Lambton. 

In Saturday's 74-70 win over St. Clair, Watt narrowly missed a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Less than 24 hours later, Watt and the Hawks became the last undefeated team in the west division, beating No. 8 Lambton, 71-59. Watt recorded her second career double-double, finishing with 19 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

For Watt, it's her second career Humber Athlete of the Week selection.

It was a big weekend for Humber basketball, picking up two victories at the North Campus Gym. The Hawks pulled off the upset against No. 10 St. Clair on Saturday, 86-82. The next day against his old squad, the Lambton Lions, Lambo went off, finishing with a career-high 33 points in Humber's 85-84 win. Trailing by two with 1.7 seconds remaining, the hometown kid hit three clutch free throws to ice the game for the Hawks.

Through seven games, Lambo is averaging a career-high 16.4 PPG.

For Dwayne, it's his first Humber Athlete of the Week selection.
