HAWKS MOVE TO 14-0 WITH STRAIGHT SET WIN AT REDEEMER

ANCASTER, ON: The Humber Hawks women's volleyball team extended their regular season record to 14-0 with a 25-13, 25-14, 25-19 win over the Redeemer Royals.

Recap by Celinne Blanchette

On February 2nd the Humber women's volleyball team took on the Redeemer Royals in a three setter match. The Hawks were put to the test of battling through a bit of turmoil and keeping the game at their pace. The sets ended with the scores 25-13, 25-14 and 25-19.

The match started off with a back and forth battle of points, with Humber ending a lot of their own rallies. It took a while for the Hawks to get comfortable in the gym but eventually found their groove with the help of Devan O'Connor going on a serving run to pull them ahead for the rest of the set. After their run the Royals couldn't seem to find a way back which lead to an end of 25-13.

In the second set Humber carried on their strength and got a good start on Redeemer and kept them under from then on. It was the third set were Humber started to struggle with letting the Royals go point for point with them. It seemed Humber was starting to play scared and didn't want to make mistakes but found a way to play their game to end it at 25-19.

The Royals gave a great match to test Humber's team atmosphere and allowed the whole bench to get a piece of the game to show Humber's all around strength.

Breanna Golding lead the team with 10 kills, Alex Bartmann spread the offence with 25 assists, and Kerissa Woolley picked up 6 digs.
