WOMEN'S CURLING CAPTURES ATHLETICS FIRST-EVER OCAA TITLE

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Over the previous five decades, Humber athletics is the only program in the OCAA to win over 500 provincial medals all-time.  During that span, the Hawks have captured 271 gold medals, averaging over five titles each varsity season.

When discussing the institution's rich athletic tradition, one must start at the beginning, when the school and program were in its infancy.  Humber College became an official member of the OCAA in 1968 and wasted no time in capturing its first provincial title.  In February 1969, the women’s curling program won the OCAA championship, winning Humber’s first OCAA medal and provincial title at the same time.

In the years following, the curling program has gone on to capture 14 more OCAA medals, including five championships.
