ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Opening its doors in November of 1971, Canada’s largest air-structured gymnasium was housed on the grounds of Humber College’s North Campus.

Nicknamed “The Bubble”, the structure stood 154 feet in length and 124 feet in width and was able to host two games of basketball, six games of badminton, two tennis matches, two volleyball games, judo, fencing, and weight training all at the same time.

The Bubble
was home to all of Humber athletics until the Gordon Wragg Student Centre opened its doors in 1979, which was for both the college and community. Though most of athletics was moved inside, the Bubble remained open until its final bit of air was blown out in 1982.
