Zitoli Nets Five As Humber Concludes 2019 Season

OSHAWA – Humber men's soccer concluded its 2019 season Saturday morning, defeating Red Deer College in the CCAA fifth/sixth placement match at Vaso's field, 5-0. Third-year forward Zachary Zitoli had a career game, netting all five tallies for Humber in the win.

Humber showcased its tremendous depth, inserting seven new faces into the starting 11. In the 22nd minute, Lorenzo Mayer blocked a clear-out in the box and Zachary Zitoli buried his first goal of the match.

Less than two minutes later, Zitoli made a nice through pass to a streaking Mayer, but Red Deer keeper Rhys Groenewegen made a brilliant save to keep the match close.

After the break, Humber's offence exploded as Zachary Zitoli added four more tallies within a 10-minute span.

Keeper Kofi Oppong made two saves to record Humber's 22nd clean sheet on the national stage.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Humber captain Michael Fayehun was honoured with the 2019 Exemplary Leadership Award.
