HUMBER HIRES NIC GRAY AS NEW STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Department of Athletics, Recreation and Leisure Education is proud to announce the hiring of new strength and conditioning coach Nic Gray.

Gray joins the athletic department with plenty of practicial experience in the strength and conditioning field and will be a valuable asset to Humber's championship culture.

"As a young strength and conditioning coach, Nic demonstrates leadership and professionalism," said High Performance Coordinator Teresa Arnini.  "He leads by example and has a true passion for the industry."

Gray attended Queen's University and while he pursued a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree, he worked with the Gaels varsity teams to gain valuable work experience.  Last season, Gray played an integral part in helping the Queen's women's soccer team win the OUA championship.

"It is important to have every student-athlete committing and buying in to the programs that we create," said Gray.  "A properly-designed program enhances athleticism, which is a key to strong sports performance."

Gray spent nearly two seasons as the strength and conditioning coach with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League and last year running conditioning camps for Team Canada Women's Hockey.

"I'm very excited to start working with Nic," said current strength and conditioning coach Joseph Latina.  "He brings experience and knowledge to our winning culture and I'm eager to see what we can accomplish together."

With Humber, Gray will be the strength and conditioning coach for basketball, soccer, and badminton.  He will also be responsible for warmups and cooldowns as well.

"I'm looking forward to getting started and meeting the talented student-athletes that comprise Humber athletics," added Gray.
