HAWKS VOLLEYBALL & HANNIMAN TAKE OCAA WEEKLY HONOURS

Humber Women's Volleyball

The Humber Hawks defeated Briercrest College and Seminary in straight sets to win bronze at nationals, marking the first time the program has captured a national medal. Humber had an overall record of 3-1 at the tournament. Thalia Hanniman (Pembroke) was named a championship first-team all-star, while Alley Newman (Kitchener) and Deborah Mitchell (Scarborough) were named championship second-team all-stars.

Fifth-year outside hitter Thalia Hanniman (Pembroke) was named a first-team all-star at nationals, helping lead her Humber Hawks to a bronze medal. She was named player of the game in a straight sets win over Holland in the bronze semi-finals with 11 kills and six digs. Hanniman was named a championship all-star at provincials, as well as a first-team league all-star for her play during the regular season.
