THREE HAWK SQUADS NAMED OCAA TEAM OF THE WEEK

TORONTO, ON: After a very successful weekend of play, three Humber Hawk teams have been honoured as "OCAA Team of the Week".

Women's Basketball

The Hawks completed a perfect season by winning its first CCAA national medal, a gold, by defeating the Holland Hurricanes 50-49 on a shot by fifth year forward Ruth Holland at the buzzer. This is the first OCAA women's team title in any women's team sport in the history of CCAA play.

Men's Indoor Soccer

Despite being down to a minimal number of players due to injuries and national team committments, the Hawks came up big once again, as they defended their 2015 title with a 2-1 (pk) win over the previously unbeaten St. Clair Saints. This is the Hawks 14th title in the last 20 years.

Men's Basketball

Humber, the defending national champs, entered the 2016 CCAA national championships as the number two seed and when the dust settled that is where they lay. The Hawks lost a final game to a tough squad from NAIT, but were crowned the 2016 CCAA Silver Medalists.
