Lucky number 13 for No. 2 Women's Volleyball

ETOBICOKE — It took five sets, but the No. 2 Humber women's volleyball team extended their win streak to 13 straight matches to begin the season, beating the Mohawk Mountaineers (7-7, 6th West), 3-2. The final set scores were 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 17-25, and 15-8.

Hannah Manners continued her dominant 2022-23 campaign, narrowly missing out on her first career double-double. The Humber legacy finished with a team-high 15 points - including 12 kills and three blocks while picking up eight digs. All-star Erika Dodd added 14 points, while Cassidy Andrews pitched in with 11 points of her own.

After cruising to a first-set victory over the Mountaineers, the Hawks struggled to play to the level they've exhibited all season, allowing Mohawk to go on runs off of unforced errors.

In the deciding set, All-Canadian Keyome Ellis used a stuffed block to get the momentum behind the Hawks. A few points later, Erika Dodd came flying from the backcourt with another big kill, extending Humber's lead to four. At the line with match point, Dodd recorded her second ace of the match, securing the victory for the Hawks, 3-2.
