WINDSOR - Just one day after her impressive performance against the Lambton Lions in Sarnia, where she scored 25 points in a 64-34 victory, shooting guard Kia Watt delivered once again. The Toronto native led No. 11 women's basketball to another road win, this time against the St. Clair Saints in Windsor, with a score of 67-56. The standout player of the game, Watt scored 26 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (a career-high), wrapping up a perfect weekend with two wins and 51 points scored. With this victory, the Hawks lead the OCAA West Division with a 10-1 record.

Although the Hawks and Saints entered the game in very different positions on the standings, the match was fiercely contested from the start. Needing a win to climb out of the uncomfortable 6th spot and take down the division leader, St. Clair tried to set a fast pace in the 1st quarter. Relying on a solid team effort and the talent of center Kaelyn Batten (17 points), the home team managed to finish the first quarter in the lead, with a score of 16-15. But the momentum stopped there.

Despite the strong push from the Saints, CeeJay Nofuente's squad remained unfazed. With a balanced game plan, the team began to dominate and steadily increase the score. Humber already had the lead in the second quarter, enormous thanks to a commanding defence that finished the game with 37 defensive rebounds. The Hawks went into halftime leading 32-25.

Under Watt's leadership and decisive performances from players like guard Maezell Del Mondo (11 points) and point guard Carina Wynter-Josephs (10 rebounds, six assists), Humber controlled the game's pace and left no room for a Saints comeback. Alongside her 26 points and 19 rebounds, Watt also made a crucial impact with four assists and seven three-pointers.
