No. 5 MEN'S SOCCER ROLL PAST NIAGARA IN QUARTER-FINAL MATCH, 7-1

TORONTO, Ont. - After falling behind early, the Humber Hawks rallied for seven straight goals, including four in sixteen minutes, to breeze past Niagara 7-1 in Thursday's OCAA Championship opening quarter-final matchup.

Niagara's Oti Frigole (St. Catharines, Ont.), who led the Knights with 11 goals during the regular season, struck early to give Niagara a 1-0 advantage. Frigole found his way behind the Hawks backline and tucked a perfectly placed ball into the bottom right corner.

Humber bounced back just before the first half whistle, earning a penalty kick in extra time. Jaineil Hoilett (Brampton, Ont.) stepped up and was stopped on his first attempt, only to bury the rebound. It seemed the Hawks had tied it up, but the referee called early entry into the box and a re-kick was necessary. This time, Hoilett stepped up and buried to knot things up as time expired.

The Hawks carried the momentum into the second half, as Aziah Reid (Brampton, Ont.) finished on a perfect cross from Hoilett to give the Hawks a one-goal advantage in the 48th minute. Twenty minutes later Riley Ferrazzo (Richmond Hill, Ont.) found the back of the net and the floodgates were officially open.

Federico Leal (Orleans, Ont.), Stavros Badunas (Brampton, Ont.), Tomasz Balicki (Mississauga, Ont.) and Luca Baldassarre (Woodbridge, Ont.) all scored in an incredible sixteen-minute onslaught. The final score read 7-1 Hawks.

Jaineil Hoilett and Oti Frigole were named players of the game.

Keeper Karmen Singh picked up the win for Humber.

With the win, Humber will face Fanshawe in tomorrow's semifinal at 3 pm. Niagara will face UTM at 9 am.
