HAWKS SWEEP NCAA - D2 EVENTS WITH WIN AT MERCYHURST
NORTH EAST, PA: The Humber Hawks put two solid days together to roll to the team championship at the Annual Mercyhurst Men's Golf Invitational (NCAA - Division 2). Conner Watt added to the Hawk accolades on the day, snaring the individual crown.
After being down by a single stroke to the leaders and host Mercyhurst Lakers (310 to 309) on Day 1, the Hawks rebounded with a solid Day 2. Humber posted a 307 team score, and took the event by six strokes over the second place Alleghany squad (617-623). The first day leaders from Mercyhurst carded a 316, and fell to third.
Individually, Conner Watt came from behind and scorched the course with a 71 to win gold. His two day mark was 76-71=147
This comes just after winning team gold at the Gannon U Spring Invitational on Saturday in Erie, PA.
