POOR SECOND NINE ON OPENING DAY DROPS HAWKS BACK ON DAY 1

OSHAWA, ON: The Humber Hawks men's and women's golf teams got off to solid, but not spectacular starts in Tuesday's opening round of the 2017 CCAA Golf Championships, but then suffered setbacks on the back nine.

WOMEN'S TEAM:

Humber sat in first place early, and had two players flirting with the top of the leaderboard, but the drop off pushed the Hawks back to third overall at the end of the day.

MEN'S TEAM

The men never really got started the way they wanted, but with the entire field struggling a bit, were able to stay within striking distance of the leaders. As with the women's team, the back half pushed them back further. At the end of the day, they sat 16 strokes back of the leaders.
