HAWKS SWEEP MEN’S & WOMEN’S GOLF TITLES AT GEORGIAN
SHANTY BAY, ON: The Humber Hawks men's and women's golf team are soaring in pre-season, as they swept their way to both team and individual titles on Thursday afternoon at Heritage Hills Golf Club in Shanty Bay.
The men's squad set the tone on the day, running away from the pack with a 12 stroke win. Their team score of just 3-over was one of their best performances over the past year.
Connor Watt led the way with a 3-under 69 to win the men's individual crown.
On the women's side, Sheila McKeen's 75 was good enough for a one-shot win on the individual category. That one shot win was the difference in the team competition as well, as the Hawks held off the defending Georgian Grizzlies squad.
The team will back on the course on Friday, as they will vie for the same sweep at the Lakehead Invitational at Hawk Ridge GC.
