ETOBICOKE - No. 1 Humber men's basketball (17-0, 1st West) blew out Canadore (2-14, 10th West) 95-57 on Sunday afternoon at the Hawks Nest. A solid second half secured the win for the Hawks as Isaiah Brady-Clarke had a career night, scoring 23 points in 16 minutes.

Game Recap

It was a solid start for Humber in the first. The Hawks took a quick lead and didn't look back.

The Hawks took flight in the quarter's final minutes, going on a 7-2 run to close out the quarter, with four crucial free throws from Osas Romeo-Joshua giving Humber a solid 27-12 lead after ten minutes of play.

The 2-14 Panthers weren't going away, though. Even though the Canadore was faced with the best team in the Nation, the squad wasn't just going to back down.

Canadore opened the quarter with a 5-0 run, cutting Humber's lead to nine. Christian Desjardins would respond with a three just seconds later, but the run visibly bolstered Canadore.

The two squads would trade baskets for the remainder of the corner. Every time Humber put together a run of multiple points, Canadore would do the same, resulting in a quarter that felt like the embodiment of "two steps forward, one step back".

Humber would escape the quarter leading 46-35, a far cry from the 15-point lead it had coming into the quarter.

Back from the break, Humber was hot. After being outscored 23-19 in the second frame, the Hawks went on a 12-4 run to start the quarter.

Kwabena Antwi was all over the floor, facilitating play throughout the quarter. Antwi was a force all afternoon on Sunday; he would finish with three steals and six rebounds.

In the back end of the third, Isaiah Brady-Clarke started to catch fire. Brady-Clarke put up 13 points in just four minutes. With the help of Brady-Clarke's hot hand, Humber outscored Canadore 25-14 in the quarter and went into the final frame leading 71-49.

Humber dominated the fourth and final quarter. The offence was clicking, but the domination happened on the court's defensive end. Canadore created nothing in the final quarter of play on Sunday, managing just eight points in the final frame.

Humber was bullying the Panthers under the rim as well. The Hawks out-rebounded Canadore 19-6 in the fourth quarter, taking away every possibility at second-chance points.

Humber would outscore Canadore 24-8 in the fourth quarter, putting on a show in its second-last home game of the season and proving, once again, why the Hawks are the best in the Nation.
