The Storyline
Humber softball (19-5, 1st OCAA) will begin its OCAA championship run Friday morning against Conestoga (14-10, 4th OCAA) from Alumni Field in London. First pitch is set for 9 a.m.

Season Series
The Hawks split the season series with Conestoga, 2-2. Humber is 28-11 all-time against the Condors, including 1-1 in postseason play.
In their last playoff meeting, Conestoga beat the Hawks 3-2 in nine innings in the bronze semifinal of the 2014 championship.

Scouting Conestoga

  • Cassey Leader led the team offensively, hitting .459 (39-for-85) in 24 games.
  • Brooklyn Billings finished with six wins and a 2.96 ERA. She went 1-1 in the circle against Humber and was the only pitcher to shutout the Hawks this season.
  • Conestoga has five OCAA titles, with its last coming in 1996.

Put it on the Board

  • Humber's 19 wins this season are the most in program history.
  • The Hawks captured the regular-season pennant for the first time in program history.
  • Humber's 15 home runs were a new program record.

Postseason Bracket
Humber will enter the tournament as the one seed, followed by Durham (19-5, 2nd OCAA), St. Clair 15-9 (3rd OCAA), and Conestoga (14-10, 4th OCAA).

Alone at the Top
Myranda Pierson ended her five-year career in spectacular fashion, throwing the first perfect game in program history. Pierson ends her career with numerous program records, including wins (34), complete games (16), innings pitched (282.2), strikeouts (174), and appearances (59).

Consistently Consistent
Meaghan Murphy saved her best season for last, becoming just the sixth player in team history to record 30-plus hits in a season. Murphy concludes her career third all-time in hits (117) and RBIs (66).

Slugger
Alexis Ferreira's 1.288 on-base plus slugging was the second-highest in program history. Hall of Famer Jessica O'Quinn's 1.347 OPS in 2013 is the top mark.

Postseason Woes
The Hawks have lost seven straight postseason games, with an all-time playoff record of 12-13 (.480). Humber is 2-6 (.250) all-time in the quarter-final round.
