Highly touted recruit Presly Buchanan did not disappoint in her first season with Humber, living up to the preseason hype and more. The dominating righty finished with a 6-2 record, 1.21 ERA, five complete games, and a program-record 54 strikeouts. Her dominating season garnered her the 2019 OCAA Pitcher of the Year award – becoming the first in program history to receive the honour.

She proved to be the best two-way player in the province, finishing with a slash line of .439/.457/.758 and a team-leading 19 RBIs, while being recognized as a league all-star.

Senior Meaghan Murphy left her best season for last, becoming just the sixth player in program history to record 30-plus hits in a season. The Brampton native set a new career-high in hits (31), extra-base hits (11), and walks (9). Her slash-line of .437/.500/.662 were all career-highs, and on Oct. 6 against Fanshawe, she hit her first career regular-season home run. Murphy was recognized as a league all-star – becoming just the 11th player in program history to receive the honour.

The end of the banquet marks the beginning of the 2019 OCAA Championship, hosted by Fanshawe College. Humber's quarter-final matchup against Conestoga is set for tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 9 a.m. The live stream for the game can be found here.
