Humber Softball Opens Pre-Season With Five Games Over Three Days

ETOBICOKE -- The Humber Hawks women's softball team will be going full-throttle to open up their pre-season schedule this weekend, playing five games in three days against the top university and college teams in the province.

The Hawks, who recorded their best regular season in history last year, have further fine-tuned their line-up and will be looking to get off to a fast start. Head Coach Duaine Bowles is finalizing his roster and he will be running the entire squad out there over this five games to give him a true indicator as to his starting ten.

This Saturday, August 31st, Humber is the host to the Annual Toronto Intercollegiate Early Bird Invitational, with all games being played at Connorvale Park in south Etobicoke. The Hawks will play three games:

9:00 am vs U of T Blues (OIWFA)
1:00 pm vs Seneca Sting (OCAA)
7:00 pm vs Ryerson Rams (OIWFA)

On Monday, September 2, Humber will travel down Highway 401 to Kitchener for a pair of exhibition tilts, both being played at Budd Park – Diamond #1.

10:00 am vs Conestoga Condors (OCAA)
12:00 noon vs Western University (OIWFA)

Humber will open up OCAA regular season play on Sunday, September 8, at 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm, as they travel to Hamilton to face the Mohawk Mountaineers.
