HAWKS CLOSE OUT SEASON WITH 3-0 PLAYOFF LOSS TO DURHAM

OSHAWA, ON: The Humber Hawks inability to close games late came back to haunt them once again this semester, as the Etobicoke based squad dropped a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-19) decision to the Durham Lords. With the loss, the Hawks season has come to an end, while the host Lords will advance to the OCAA Championship tournament at Seneca College next week.

As mentioned above, the Hawks were in a position to grab a set early, and were in the match as it neared the twenties in the next two.  The young and inexperienced Humber squad were unable to make their own breaks, serving into the net and hitting out of bounds at key points.

Despite the loss, the coaching staff remained optimistic with the on-court results this season.

"We had some potholes in our way in the second half", said Hawk head coach Wayne Wilkins. "But, our nucleus is solid our work ethic is through the roof, and that is sure to pay dividends in the coming season."

Coach Wilkins has already had a couple of key recruits commit to the Hawks for the 2016/17 season, and he is sure to add more talent along the way.
