FLETCHER LEADS HAWKS TO SEASON OPENING WIN OVER CONESTOGA
KITCHENER, Ontario: The Humber Hawks, the five time defending OCAA champions, the 2015 season off on the right foot by way of a 57-5 win over the host Conestoga Condors.
Johnmichael Fletcher led both teams on the night, as his four tries was good for twenty points. 2014 OCAA Player of the Year Johnny Sheridan was next up on the point parade as he converted six tries, for twelve points. Kiera Smerdon and Joseph Willard had ten points on two tries each, while Jordan Brown finished the scoring with a single try.
The Condors broke through for a try, something that no OCAA team was able to do all of last season, up until the Gold Medal game.
The Hawks next game will be their home opener, as the Mohawk Mountaineers will come to the Humber Valley Field on Friday, September 25, with a kick off slated for 4:30 pm.
